Google again!!

Just saw this weird behavior, when you click on 'View Online' in picasa, it automatically opens up in IE, even when you default browser is set to something else!
Can somebody plz xplain to me Y?!! 'N its not only picasa, try Google Earth too, its the same. Click on view in google maps, 'n it opens up not one but 2 IE windows!I dont want to think badly of google, but 'm getting more 'n more such instances wherein i have no option to think otherwise...

Picasa works smooth in Firefox, try setting Firefox as ur default browser .. goto options, Main tab, check 'System Default' .. after this try Picasa.

@ sankar: how i wish i cud just abstain frm all evil! :D but there are some necessary evils for which i havent found decent substitution, namely - iTunes, and 'Web Album' functionality, which is still not available in linux version of picasa(step-motherly treatment of google towards linux again!).. :(

@ arvind: yep it used to, but on vista somehow it doesnt, 'n my default browser is set to 'flock', 'n the links open just fine in tht, its just picasa 'n google earth which i have seen opening it in IE, even though a session of flock is already running...

Is Banshee not featureful as iTunes ? Check out the latest version and try. One distinct advantage of iTunes is there is no respect to crappy respect to DRM. You can put in a CD and d-n-d files into your library.

I dont know what Webalbum thing is. I'll check if you can do any of that sort with F-Spot.

And you can contribute always.

Google is funding in loads of money to Mozilla community for their Google Gears. So they will be preferring Firefox instead of IE. Probaly, there should be some new Reg-key in Vista for the default-browser setting. Get the latest firefox version and try setting it as default-browser (just a try. May not work).

ahem...well i dont use iTunes for its features...da one 'n only reason i use it is for my ipod....'n even for tht i used to use Amarok...but after a real bad scare, where in i had to reload my ipod to factory settings to make it work(aka reformat 'n lose my 45G of music...yeah i had to back it up 'n refill my ipod...'n neone will know what a pain job it is...especially for such large size...) have decided to manage ipod only with itunes...
'n yeah me a bonafide Amarok user...'n banshee, the last time i tried, it was still way behind Amarok...
'n trust me i am looking for a nice player on gnome, infact Exaile
comes pretty close to Amarok replacement...'n in a way its better as it as tabbed playlist feature...

'n web-album is a feature where it lets you upload many files @ once to picasa, i would use 'Flock' but only they don't have support for picasa... :(
